                                       WHY INDIVIDUAL PEER SUPPORT?

Peer Support offers a new alternative to helping guide someone through their struggles and can accent traditional services. Peer support assists or coaches someone in guiding them through physical or emotional struggles to help find a positive and encouraging lifestyle. The shared lived experience and helping someone find their own tools and coping skills to help them attain the wellness they desire is the goal.

Contact me and we can talk further either at the comfortable oak table with a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, in the comfy chairs.

                                Why Transformation Support Groups
Groups are different than traditional support groups as these offer not only support but also provides wellness inspiration and motivation and utilize the Evidenced Based Plan of WRAP: a self awareness and self management plan.

Through either giving or receiving support, every member will be supported as wellness is the theme.
This is combined with a therapeutic wellness activities such as zentangles, mandalas,
positive affirmations, painting  and other crafts.

HOME OF THE AWESOME SELF - AWARENESS  & EMPOWERMENT                                                                                  WORKSHOP OF WRAP

Utilizing Dr Mary Ellen Copeland's WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan), WRAP is an evidenced based plan with SAMHSA which means it is a proven program that has worked for people struggling with any challenges in their life.

The plan is facilitated by professionally trained facilitators and uphold the values and ethics of this plan. The plan is very effective when a person with lived experience facilitates this and shares the process of the effectiveness of this in their own life. This plan brings an awareness to recovery concepts, and educates someone through the process of learning more about themselves to help find personal responsibility in their own lives. The workshop allows for an incredible positive experience as the group discusses the plan and allows an individual to develop their own plan.

                                                                                 8 DIMENSIONS OF WELLNESS
SAMHSA's 8 dimensions of wellness is also a part of the work at The Support Place as it provides a framework of awareness for overall health.

Some of the Comments from People Already Attending Workshops:

·  “I've always felt, through my 19 plus years of treatment, that my focus of traditional support is on crisis and not prevention. “Healing from Within” allows for a more pro-active and prevention oriented approach that focuses on the whole person, not just your diagnosis.”
·  “The wellness tools are new to me, somewhat, and I am learning so much about myself in terms of life experiences as well.  All I want is to learn more, just because of this group”.
·  “I was taught to believe the unreal and to not believe and doubt the real. I am able to believe in my personal power and wellness because of the WRAP group.”
·  “Through ‘WRAP’ I have come to know and feel that HOPE is a tool that can be re-learned and re-awakening of one self.”
·
“This group has truly helped me cope with life. I have learned about my issues and relationships. For once I am able to relate to people.”
